He serves as principal and co-leader of the firm’s Privacy, Data and Cybersecurity group and editor of the Workplace Privacy, Data Management and Security blog. A Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) with the International Association of Privacy Professionals, Joe focuses his practice on advising companies on data privacy, security and social media regulation, providing strategic guidance to organizations as they navigate complex privacy, cybersecurity and data protection laws.
Laura was recognized in the Government Contracting category for the third consecutive year. She is a principal and leader of the firm’s Workplace Analytics and Preventive Strategies Pay Equity group, serves as editor for the Affirmative Action Law Advisor blog and frequently presents on pay equity and government contractor obligations. Laura's practice centers on helping employers navigate workplace compliance and human capital strategies, with a strong focus on data analytics and pay equity initiatives. She partners closely with government contractors to understand, implement and demonstrate compliance with their Equal Employment Opportunity regulatory and compliance obligations.
Michael and Marissa were recognized in the Immigration category for the second and first year respectively. Michael, office managing principal of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, has held senior positions at the White House Homeland Security Council, U.S. Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He advises clients on compliance, visas and government relations to support business engagement with policymakers.
Marissa represents businesses in complex immigrant and nonimmigrant visa matters. She has experience filing mandamus petitions against U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the State Department as well as securing successful motions to reopen appeals before USCIS, the Administrative Appeals Office and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
