Biography

Diana M. Caldas is an Associate in the Washington, D.C. Region office of Jackson Lewis P.C. She is an experienced litigator and represents employers in a broad spectrum of labor and employment law matters, including discrimination, retaliation, tort, and contract claims.

Ms. Caldas has experience with all phases of the litigation process, including taking and defending fact, expert and 30(b)(6) depositions and all aspects of trial preparation. She has obtained numerous successful outcomes before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the District of Columbia Office of Human Rights, and the Office of Human Rights for several Maryland counties. She has also successfully advocated on behalf of her clients in District of Columbia and Maryland courts, including drafting effective dispositive and summary judgment motions.

While attending law school, Ms. Caldas worked as a Rule 16 Student Attorney for the National Association of the Deaf as part of her law clinics. She also served as an Asper Fellow in the Office of the Attorney General’s Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation. She was a University of Maryland School of Law Leadership Scholar from 2010 to 2013 and volunteered as a peer advisor and on the Joint Student-Faculty Administrative Committee.

Ms. Caldas clerked for the Honorable Paul A. Hackner in the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

A native of Colombia, Ms. Caldas holds dual citizenship in her country of birth and the United States. She is a bilingual Spanish speaker and she is also proficient in Portuguese. Her Spanish language practice includes analyzing, interpreting, translating documents, and counseling clients in all aspects of employment and litigation matters.
