Heather Renée Adams is an Associate in the Chicago, Illinois, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. She is a business-oriented, labor and employment attorney who regularly advises and represents employers in high-stakes whistleblower actions and various other areas of employment law before federal district courts, state and federal appellate courts, and administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Illinois Human Rights Commission.

Ms. Adams has represented clients from diverse industries, including: transportation; federal, state and local government; higher education; healthcare; financial service and global retailers. She has also given numerous presentations on developments within the employment law landscape, litigation strategies and workplace solutions. She regularly advises employers on preventive litigation practices, avoiding workplace disputes, and resolving employee relations problems.

Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Ms. Adams practiced labor and employment law at Chicago-based boutique law firms where she represented transportation clients with union workforces in a broad range of employment law matters, including claims of discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, failure to accommodate and whistleblower actions.

During law school, Ms. Adams was editor of the DePaul University College of Law Rule of Law Journal and was an extern Clerk for the Honorable Franklin U. Valderrama in the Cook County Circuit Court, Chancery Division. Ms. Adams also interned with the Chicago Committee for Civil Rights Under Law.

  • Jury verdict for employer in the first Federal Railroad Safety Act (FRSA) Whistleblower lawsuit tried in the state of Illinois
