Biography
Paul Holscher is a principal in the Raleigh, North Carolina, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. He is a native of North Carolina and has been helping employers prevent and resolve disputes with their employees for more than 15 years.
Paul works with clients to reduce risk and minimize legal costs by giving advice on difficult personnel decisions before litigation ensues. If litigation is unavoidable, he helps employers protect their assets and reputations by vigorously and efficiently defending them from administrative charges and lawsuits.
Paul frequently advises employers on legal compliance with North Carolina workplace law, as well as Title VII, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans With Disabilities Act, the National Labor Relations Act and other applicable laws and regulations.
Paul has given 53 presentations to management and various human resources groups. His presentations focus on implementing practical approaches to resolve workplace issues and to foster a productive work environment.
Paul frequently provides training to management and human resources professionals. He has defended against dozens of employment-based lawsuits for employers in a variety of industries.
Paul’s work experience includes a stint as a staff assistant for Congressman Walter B. Jones in Washington, D.C.
Prior to law school, Paul hiked more than 1,200 miles of the Appalachian Trail, starting his five-month journey in Springer Mountain, Georgia, and ending at the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area in New Jersey.
Paul resides in Raleigh with his wife, Ingrid, and two young sons, JT and Harry. In 2016 and 2017, Paul participated in the Blue Ridge Relay, a 209-mile relay race that takes place in the mountains of Virginia and North Carolina. Paul is an avid tennis player and has won multiple USTA NC State Championships. In addition to tennis, in his free time Paul enjoys fly fishing and numerous other outdoor pursuits.

- Provided advice and counsel related to the conducting of a workplace investigation of a complaint of race discrimination and retaliation
- Revised client’s Employee Handbook to ensure compliance with federal and state law
- Presented at monthly meeting of the Beaufort County HR Association regarding effective management strategies, Title VII, social media issues and various other legal issues
- Obtained dismissal of numerous employment-law claims asserted against public employer, federal court, North Carolina
- Obtained dismissals of numerous complaints of alleged unlawful labor practices made to the National Labor Relations Board
- Obtained dismissal of charge of discrimination filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission regarding alleged race discrimination
