Michael S. Friedman
Michael S. Friedman is a principal in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. He focuses his practice on the representation of employers and management in connection with a wide array of workplace and employment issues at the federal court, state court and administrative agency levels involving all federal and state discrimination laws (including but not limited to: age, race, sex, national origin, disability, and religion), as well as issues concerning restrictive covenants, employment contracts and separation agreements.
Michael also dedicates a substantial portion of his practice to litigation prevention by providing advice and counseling to employers of all sizes on issues such as workplace policies, employee discipline, internal complaints and investigations, disability and leave management issues, and many other issues. Additionally, Michael has an active practice and extensive experience providing on-site anti-harassment and anti-discrimination training to the firm’s clients across all industries.
Prior to working for Jackson Lewis, Michael worked for a prominent Philadelphia law firm practicing in the area of labor and employment law, where he litigated and defended both litigation and administrative matters on behalf of the firm's clients. Still earlier, Michael served as president of a full-service sports management and marketing firm which represented professional athletes and coaches in all facets of management, negotiating playing contracts and procuring endorsement opportunities for clients in professional football, basketball, and baseball.
While attending Franklin & Marshall College, Michael was class president and played four years of varsity football including one year as a member of the 1995 Centennial Conference Champion football team.
Michael also served his community for three terms (2011-2019) as an elected committeeman on the Voorhees Township (NJ) Committee. In that capacity, Michael had served as the township's Director of Finance and liaison to the Voorhees Township Fire District.
