Gregory T. Alvarez is a Principal in the Morristown, New Jersey, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. He focuses his practice on employment litigation, including class and collective action cases, as well as employment law counseling.  Mr. Alvarez is a member of the firm’s Hispanic-American Attorney Resource Group and former Board Liaison to the firm’s Diversity Committee.

Mr. Alvarez joined Jackson Lewis in 1994 and has since counseled employers on complying with the law and minimizing their risk of employment law claims. Mr. Alvarez is a member of the firm’s Disability Leave and Health Management Practice Group. Mr. Alvarez also counsels and provides training to employers on many other employment law issues, including reductions in force, responding to employee complaints, including complaints of harassment, and restrictive covenant/non-compete-related issues.

In addition, Mr. Alvarez is a member of the firm’s Class Action Practice Group. He defends employers in federal and state court litigation and administrative charges, including many wage and hour class and collective actions and other multi-plaintiff litigations. Mr. Alvarez also has many years of experience representing Professional Employer Organizations (PEO), limousine companies and hospitals, as well as employers in the elevator and pharmaceutical industries.

Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Mr. Alvarez was a Field Attorney for Region 22 of the National Labor Relations Board, investigating and prosecuting unfair labor practices and conducting representation elections and hearings. Before law school, Mr. Alvarez worked in Human Resources for Macy's.

Mr. Alvarez works closely with numerous SHRM chapters and other similar business organizations, regularly speaking on a wide variety of employment law issues.
