Stephanie M. Velo
Stephanie Velo is an associate in the Orlando, Florida, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Known for her clarity, responsiveness, and creative approach to lawyering, Stephanie brings a blend of litigation skills and practical counseling to help employers navigate challenges with confidence and foresight.
Stephanie’s practice is rooted in understanding the broader context and long-term business goals of her clients. She believes that representing organizations is about more than winning an isolated dispute; it is about resolving matters in ways that preserve credibility, support operational needs, and maintain the trust of employees, stakeholders, and the communities they serve. Stephanie collaborates with organizations to craft workplace policies and legal strategies that mitigate risk and meet practical business needs. When conflict arises, Stephanie represents employers in disputes related to discrimination, harassment, and termination.
Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Stephanie served as outside general counsel to more than a dozen municipalities and public agencies across Florida. Stephanie developed her reputation for decisiveness and resilience early in her career. Just six months into practice, she found herself at the center of statewide debates over mask mandates and emergency public health orders. Navigating those politically charged and fast-evolving issues hardened her to adversity, refined her judgment under pressure, and reinforced her belief that effective counsel requires the courage to take the bull by the horns—even when the stakes are public, urgent, and under intense scrutiny.
